Open Rivers : Second weir removed on the Tardoire !

Removal ended 28 of February sucessfully. The weir was removed and boulders from the deconstruction materials were placed in the river bed to diversify the bottom and create currents. The banks were partially filled in to reduce the width of the river and concentrate the flows at low water while respecting the 5m width at the bottom. Sediments were reclaimed at the back and the right bank slope was slightly softened to become a flood expansion zone.

The third weir will be removed in May 2023.

The works was made possible with the financial support from the Open Rivers programme, more infos
