Avec ses 16m de haut ils constituent un verrou pour les poissons migrateurs qui fr\u00e9quentent ce fleuve c\u00f4tier. Compte tenu des impacts, des obligations r\u00e8glementaires de mise aux normes, des probl\u00e8mes de qualit\u00e9 d\u2019eau que le barrage de La-Roche-qui-Boit et Vezins engendrent, de leur faible productivit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, et des rapports concluant \u00e0 l\u2019impossibilit\u00e9 technique d\u2019am\u00e9nager les ouvrages, l\u2019arasement des barrages apr\u00e8s la fin de concession en 2007 est r\u00e9clam\u00e9e par les associations environnementales mais aussi les \u00e9lus de la CLE du SAGE. Des oppositions locales \u00e9mergent. Le projet est suspendu en 2014 mais le processus reprendra en 2017. Le barrage de La-Roche-Qui-Boit est d\u00e9construit en juin 2022. Les travaux de gestion des s\u00e9diments ont d\u00e9marr\u00e9 au mois de juin 2020 et se sont termin\u00e9 en automne 2021.<\/p>\n<p>La vidange d\u00e9finitive du plan d\u2019eau a d\u00e9but\u00e9
