Relearning about River

More and more people now live in cities with few residing beside a river or if they do than just on a temporary basis.

The time when complete families or even generations stayed in the same location beside a river has passed.  The individual and collective understanding of rivers and how they behave is long since gone. Who nowadays truly comprehends how dangerous flooding can be and how it can be dealt with?

How many citizens and decision makers understand the significance and function of living, free-flowing rivers full of water and fish?

In reaction to this trend ERN has developed a number of projects and campaigns.

Our Projects and Campaigns

An instruction programme for schools. Art as a means of communicating knowledge.

A European-wide campaign to improve water quality and support the return of river swimming.
